For all of us 'locals' in The Whitsundays life is pretty good, great even! We've get to live in one of the most picturesque regions of Queensland renowned for stunning island beaches, crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. However, beneath the surface we've got ants - retty ugly ones too!
Today we're talking about the invasive little critters known as Coastal Brown Ants, or by their scientific name - Pheidole Megacephala. These buggers are probably the most common ant species in the region and you can tell when they've moved in by mounds of dirt along skirting boards.
Now don't be alarmed, these are NOT termites but they are still a major pest and need to be controlled. We can help you with that.
Basically what happens is a regular house of pretty much any style will suffer from an infestation in the garden or close to the house and from these they will hunt for food and water. This is when they decide to move inside.
We treat the Coastal Brown Ant with specialised teatments to kill them and create a barrier to stop more from coming in. By stopping the second charge coming through we generally stop 'em in their track AND to make sure we normally complete a follow up treatment 2 to 3 weeks after the first major treatment for that final blow to knock their defences. Then your little ant problem is no more.
